Supported? Or Unsupported?

The Trek to Petra can be done with full support, meaning you only carry a day-pack which has your water, packed lunch, camera, and whatever else you would like to bring with you along the hike itself.

While the rest of your luggage, kitchen, camp setup, washing facilities, etc. are all taken by pickups which you meet at the end of each day upon arrival to camp.

Our cooks will cook dinner for us, prepare breakfast and hand us a packed lunch for the day. Our crew will take care of camp setup, facilities, luggage transport, etc. After you leave our camp each morning, the crew will break camp, pack up the pickups and follow very steep, uneven and extremely remote dirt paths only to pitch camp again and set up for our arrival at our hike end point of the day.

For those who enjoy backpacking and benefit from a higher level of fitness, they are offered the chance to do the hike unsupported. This means carrying your food (dehydrated meals – which can be provided), sleeping bag, sleeping mat, tent (if in winter), etc. A water filter to filter drinking water at springs where you camp will be provided. Doing the hike unsupported is a special experience indeed!
